We construct, purchase, lease, and manage telecommunications towers that are capable of supporting and supplying energy for various tenants. Our clients are the leading Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and we provide services to them in nine rapidly expanding markets (eight in Africa and one in the Middle East). Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key part of the Helios Towers Ghana Executive team, tasked with developing and integrating a strategic HR function that enhances organizational performance. You will collaborate closely with the Group HR Department to develop high-performing teams, nurture a culture of excellence, and execute our Sustainable Business Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

In your role as Head of HR – People, Organisation & Development, you will oversee:

  • Spearheading the execution of strategic HR initiatives, encompassing workforce planning, talent management, performance management, and cultural transformation.
  • Creating and implementing internal communication tools to improve engagement between management and employees.
  • Carrying out needs evaluations and implementing organizational development initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Promoting HR-driven evaluations of processes to enhance workforce size and operational effectiveness.
  • Supervising performance evaluation, guaranteeing equitable assessments with SMART goals.
  • Leading the talent assessment and succession planning efforts for essential positions.
  • Oversee recruitment tactics, orientation, and onboarding to facilitate workforce expansion.
  • Developing employee engagement and relations initiatives that strengthen our values.
  • Guarantee adherence to Ghanaian Labour Law and Group regulations, revising personnel policies when necessary.
  • Lastly, overseeing front-of-house, office facilities, and the operations of the company vehicle fleet.

Qualifications for the Position

To thrive in this position, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 10 years of previous HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position within HR.
  • An established history in HR transformation and managing organizational development initiatives in telecommunications or related sectors.
  • Experience leading cultural transformation initiatives
  • Comprehensive understanding of Ghanaian Employment Legislation and regional HR methodologies.

Skills Wanted

  • CIPD, SPHR(i), or comparable HR certification (beneficial)
  • Expertise in HRIS systems, preferably SuccessFactors
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities in English.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to independently manage intricate HR projects and demonstrate resilience.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills complemented by strategic thinking.
