Green Card Lottery 2026: DV 2026 Education & Work Experience List | US Immigration

DV 2026 education and professional experience that will make you eligible. To assist you in crafting a compelling application, we’ll examine the educational and professional experience prerequisites in this update. To be eligible for a DV 2026 immigration visa, you have to fulfill one of the two prerequisites;

1. Complete a US High School Degree or a Foreign Equivalent

An applicant must have completed a US high school degree or a foreign equivalent of a US high school degree to be eligible for the DV 2026 Lottery. A high school degree, or its equivalent, is obtained by completing a minimum of a 12-year elementary and secondary education program in the United States or, in another nation, a formal elementary and secondary education program that is equivalent to completing a 12-year education in the United States.

It is insufficient to pass the high school equivalency exam. If the course of study completed is equivalent to a US High School degree, it is acceptable to have completed one’s education in less time than 12 years or more time than 12 years.

2. Work Experience Requirements

While a high school degree is one way to get in, you can also qualify through work experience if you don’t have the required education. An applicant must have worked in at least one recognized occupation for at least two years during the previous five years to be eligible for the DV 2026 Lottery. To meet the requirements, ensure your job experience corresponds with one of the approved occupations.

Important Notice

When registering for the DV 2026 Lottery, applicants do not need to present proof that they meet these qualifications; nonetheless, documentation will be requested and needed by a consular officer upon the applicant’s formal application for a permanent residence visa. You should not apply for the DV 2026 Lottery if you do not meet these two fundamental qualifications, as doing so would result in your disqualification.

After you are chosen, you will need to submit documentation of your training and employment history from your home country. You are not obligated to enter this information at this time on the Green Card Lottery registration form.
