GREAT! UK SIGNS 3,000 VISAS UNDER THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SCHEME
Great news with NewsNowGh as UK Prime Minister approves 3,000 work visas for Indians in 2022. As part of the UK India young professional scheme, according to the British government.
India is the first national country to benefit from such a scheme. This highlights the importance of the UK-India migration and mobility partnership signed last year, 2021. This news came after Prime Minister Richard Honor and Narend Modi meeting during the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
WHO QUALIFIES TO ENROL UNDER THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SCHEME?
This opportunity is available for 18-30years degree educated Indian Nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to 2 years.
WHY IS THE SCHEME PURPORTEDLY FOR INDIAN NATIONALS?
The UK has more strong links and commitments with India compared to any other country. This scheme is therefore significant to the bilateral relationship they share and also a means to strengthen both economies.
UK INDIA YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SCHEME
Under this scheme, Indians will have to hold a diploma or degree equivalent to at least 3years of higher education. They must also be able to express themselves in the English Language.
REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY
The requirements and eligibility aren’t made known at the moment. But it is also possible that the visa will require sponsorship or a job offer from a named employer which will distinguish it from the unsponsored youth mobility scheme routes. However, the eligibility requirements have not yet been finalized.
HOW IS THE SELECTION ALSO GOING TO BE
This is also not yet clear from the official publication. A number of predictions have been made by the public saying it’s going to take the form of a lottery system but we look out to the final selection criteria from the UK
WHEN WILL THIS BE IMPLEMENTED
This is just an announcement of a forthcoming 3,000 visas to be issued. A confirmation of when this will be implemented, when and how people can apply and the necessary documentation required for the application.
