POSITION: Human Resources Specialist

Role Overview:
The position is within the Country Office HR team and delivers essential HR services to both the Country Office units and, more significantly, to the projects operated by GIZ Ghana.
The position involves assisting in the execution of effective HR services and practices at the Country Office in accordance with GIZ HR Strategy regarding recruitment, employee relations, interviews, contract management, and support for the Head of HR and the complete HR Team.
Tasks:
- Organizes and oversees the recruitment and hiring process in line with GIZ standards and adheres to National Labour Laws.
- Aids in creating/updating job descriptions and necessary profiles and guarantees their publication on suitable media platforms.
- Filters incoming applications according to requirements or hiring standards and arranges the selection process (e.g., interviews) alongside recruiting managers/projects.
- Inform both successful and unsuccessful candidates, record the selection procedure, and store the documentation properly.
- Prepares a suitable contract following national labour regulations and the GIZ guidelines and processes.
- Supports all additional organizational and administrative processing phases, such as the monthly update of records in the SAP HR application for national staff.
- Revise employment condition details for nationals in personnel files in collaboration with the Head of HR.
- Keeps employee records and verifies they are current with all necessary paperwork.
- Develops, executes, and oversees onboarding programs from start to finish for all new hires, including NMAs, AMAs, NSPs, and Interns.
- Offers assistance and advises management on the suitable resolution of employee relations matters in collaboration with the Head of HR.
- Support the development/revision of human resource policies and procedures for managerial endorsement.
- Build solid connections and collaborate with team leaders and staff to offer assistance on HR matters, policies, and procedures.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- At least a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or a related area.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with recruitment strategy and support.
- Selecting candidates, conducting interviews, and assigning positions.
- Familiarity with the development cooperation sector.
- Familiarity with HRIS/Applicant Tracking systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with managing Visa and Immigration procedures
- Strong understanding of industrial relations.
- Expertise in guiding on HR matters
