Qualification Standards:

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for scholarships from Eastern Mediterranean University:

• Language Requirement: English proficiency
• Eligible Nationality: Worldwide applicants are welcome to apply from any of the eligible nations.

One 100% tuition fee scholarship or two 50% tuition fee scholarships are available for each PhD program, to be given, separately, to new international students and Turkish nationals. A minimum Bachelor’s Degree CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00, or its equivalent, is required of applicants.

Turkish nationals who are enrolling in the program for the first time and have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or its equivalent may be awarded one 100% scholarship and two 50% scholarships for each master’s program. Additionally, a significant amount of scholarships covering 50% of the tuition cost are available to new overseas students starting master’s programs. Language Requirement in English:

Candidates must exhibit English language competency for all Ph.D. programs (in both English and Turkish) and master’s programs offered in English. Your ability to communicate in English will be evaluated at EMU through an exam if you do not have a legitimate English language qualification that satisfies the university’s standards. This assessment will determine whether the following scenarios apply:

• In addition to your graduate program classes, you will take English courses.
• Prior to starting your graduate program, you will first enroll in intensive English courses (without graduate program courses).
• The English Language Support Program will not apply to you, and you can start your postgraduate courses right away.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please take the following actions to apply for the Eastern Mediterranean University Scholarship:

• Finish filling out the scholarship application.
• Get ready the following files that are needed for your application:

1. certified copies of diplomas from universities or other comparable institutions (such as a bachelor’s degree earned in four years).
2. Please offer translations into English if these documents are not in English.

1. an official transcript that lists every course taken toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the university level. Provide a comparative mark/grade table if the transcript does not use a 4.00 CGPA scale.

• Three recommendation letters Note: Graduates of EMU are exempt from this requirement.
• Details of any prior award or scholarship applications you have submitted, including any supporting documentation.
• Recording of your results on academic proficiency tests and English assessments. Programs where Turkish is the primary language of instruction are exempt from this requirement. It is customary for native speakers to disclose their citizenship and place of birth. Others should take one of the designated English ability Tests to demonstrate their level of ability.
• Information about any grants or scholarships you have previously received, together with any accompanying documentation, that are pertinent to your EMU studentship.
• A picture of your ID card or passport.
• Statement of Purpose/Intention: Outline your goals for applying to the program of your choice, providing details about your areas of expertise within the subject as well as your motivation. Send this in on a different page.

• Ph.D. and Master’s in Architecture: Portfolio
