Full USA-funded IREX Community Solutions Program 2024

The Community Solutions Program (CSP), which is a professional leadership development program for people who are striving to better their communities, is currently accepting applications from prospective candidates who are interested in applying.

The program consists of a fellowship that is scheduled to take place in the United States and lasts for a total of four months. During this time, participants will be given the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience as well as receive leadership training, both of which will assist them in becoming more effective managers and leaders.

Persons who are trying to better their communities by tackling issues relating to the environment, peace and conflict resolution, transparency and accountability, as well as women and gender, are the focus of this program, which strives to develop the potential leadership abilities of those persons.

The candidate will have the option to design and plan a community development effort or project to carry out after they return home, in addition to a wide variety of other opportunities, if they want to participate in the program. The program provides successful applicants with financial assistance as part of its benefits.

The Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy all of the standards specified (below) in order to be considered for the IREX Community Solutions Program 2024. These requirements are as follows:

• Candidates’ ages must fall between 25 and 38 on January 1, 2024, in order to be considered.
• Be a citizen of a country that is qualified.
• Staying in your native nation and making an active contribution to the economy of that nation. Particular consideration might be given to people who have been recognized as refugees and who are actively contributing to the betterment of the community in which they live.
• Have a minimum of two years of experience working in the field of community development, either as a full-time or part-time employee or as a volunteer for an organization whose primary focus is community development.
• Demonstrate a high degree of competence in both the oral and written use of the English language.
• You are not currently enrolled in any academic, training, or research program in the United States.
• Able to travel to the United States for a period of four months, beginning in August 2024 and ending in December 2024.
• Have not been a citizen or a permanent resident in the United States for the preceding three years.

Capable of obtaining a J-1 visa from the United States.

• You must affirm that you will reside in your native country for a period of at least two years after the completion of the program.
• You must not currently work for IREX, be a consultant for the company, or be a member of their immediate family.

Scholarship Benefits:

The following types of costs are covered by the program’s insurance:

• Assistance with J-1 visa travel inside the United States, both to and from the participants’ home cities.
• A stipend is paid every month to cover accommodation, meals, and other costs of life incurred while in the United States.
• Health insurance that covers accidents and illnesses.
• Accommodations for accessibility, including ADA-accessible rooms for in-person training, software such as JAWS, as well as community support and community training.

Countries That May Apply:

Botswana, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are all countries that may be found in Africa.

Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam make up the countries that makeup East Asia and the Pacific.

The following countries can be found in Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and West Bank/Palestinian Territories are included in the list of countries that make up the Middle East and North Africa.

Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are the countries that make up South and Central Asia.

Countries included in this hemisphere’s western half are Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Other countries in this hemisphere are Guyana, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Procedures for Making Applications

Application Guidelines:

Only online applications will be accepted from applicants interested in the IREX Community Solutions Program 2024, and such applications must be submitted on or before the application deadline. Applications that are sent to IREX via mail, fax, or email will not be accepted by the organization. Please only send any further queries to the following email address: apply.csp@irex.org.

The deadline for applications is November 1st, 2023.

Regarding COVID-19:

Between the months of August and December in the year 2024, IREX intends to personally carry out the Community Solutions Program in the United States of America. Monitoring the COVID-19 epidemic will be continued by both IREX and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. This will allow for any necessary adjustments to be made to the way programs are carried out. The safety and well-being of CSP participants, partners, and communities have been and will continue to be IREX’s primary objective, and it always has been and always will be.
