Role: NETWORK OPERATIONS ENGINEER
JOB PURPOSE
The successful applicant will provide advanced troubleshooting, advanced configuration, network change management, network audits, and the deployment of all extra network features and technological solutions.
The Network Operation and Maintenance Manager is in charge of this position.
ROLE-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT
- Handles all network troubleshooting escalations from the BNC NOC.
- Handles IP service setups, network integration, and updates, as well as software and hardware upgrades.
- Ensures that all Network Management Systems and Tools are operating as expected and provides assistance with troubleshooting.
- Creates network change management procedures, notifies consumers of any network changes, adheres to guidelines and procedures, and manages all planned operations efficiently.
- Verifies and audits all active network resources, such as service capacity, ports, IPs, VLANs, and so on.
- Ensures that all core and aggregation network nodes run smoothly.
- Technical documentation linked to active network components and network solutions, such as Standard Operating Procedures, is written, edited, organized, and proofread.
Required Qualifications or Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology (or 3 years of related work experience in place of a degree).
- A solid understanding of network services and technologies from Layer 1 to Layer 3, including Dark Fiber, DWDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, IP, and Wireless systems.
- Sophisticated knowledge of network principles, such as routing protocols, sophisticated networking capabilities, and troubleshooting across several vendor platforms.
- Superior network routing protocol troubleshooting skills across the board, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS.
- Understanding of industry best practices for the operation of AC and DC power systems, as well as environmental controls
