What you will perform
The Head of HR – Africa is a high-level position responsible for leading the Human Resources function for Fido in Ghana and aiding HR initiatives in other African nations where Fido operates or intends to grow. This position will lead the comprehensive HR strategy, covering recruitment, talent management, organizational development, and the execution of HR policies and practices that align with Fido’s business goals.
Main Duties
Ghana Human Resources Leadership
- Direct the HR function in Ghana, managing all HR activities, strategy, and workforce planning.
- Execute HR strategies that correspond with organizational objectives, encompassing workforce planning and performance evaluation.
- Create and implement HR strategies that enhance talent acquisition, emphasizing the sourcing and retention of leading technology, data, and product professionals.
- Guarantee adherence to regional employment laws and regulations.
- Adapt and execute worldwide HR strategies, frameworks, and initiatives at the Ghana location.
- Foster a high-performance environment by utilizing effective engagement, learning, and professional development initiatives.
Regional HR Support
- Work together with site leaders and HR partners in various African nations to address local HR requirements and difficulties.
- Facilitate the implementation of HR policies, systems, and programs throughout the Africa region, ensuring they are locally adapted and compliant.
- Ensure coherence of HR processes, tools, and culture at all locations while considering local circumstances.
Leadership in Strategic Human Resources
- Consult with executive leadership on HR issues, such as organizational structure, leadership training, and succession strategies.
- Work together with Finance, Legal, and Operations on strategies for compensation and benefits.
- Serve as a cultural representative, promoting company values and advancing employee experience programs throughout the region.
Your Identity
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred, Global Institute preferred).
- Over 10 years of advancing HR experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position in Africa.
- Background in dynamic, expanding firms (preferably within fintech, technology, or financial services).
- Preference is strongly given to international exposure or previous experience working overseas with cross-cultural teams.
- Demonstrated experience in managing HR functions comprehensively (hiring, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, etc.).
- A thorough understanding of Ghanaian labour regulations and awareness of HR practices in various African nations is advantageous
