Job Description
This role is intended to coordinate and oversee our Shea procurement, tolling, and logistics in West Africa, under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager, while actively contributing to our business objectives as part of our growth strategy. The role will actively contribute to expanding our presence in the area while enhancing existing relationships with Shea suppliers and Shea partners closely tied to our sustainability initiative called “Where Life Grows.”
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage in Shea procurement by evaluating Shea crop forecasts, negotiating purchase agreements, and monitoring the execution of contracts.
- Oversee large-scale tolling operations for his region.
- Evaluate, strategize, and carry out logistics operations in the area (storage, transportation by land and sea)
- Execute, supervise, and enhance quality and food safety standards as per agreements with local (tolling) partners.
- Accountable for ensuring precise and prompt inventory reporting.
- Collaborate with partners to execute the BLC sustainability plan.
- Observe and document the changes in the Shea ecosystem.
- Identify and suggest enhancements for the supply chain.
- Lead his team with effective leadership and foster a culture of accountability and performance within the group.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, purchasing, or food science.
- Experience in agro-commodities and/or food processing is essential.
- Willing to travel frequently within the area.
- Strong understanding of technical procedures along with principles of quality and food safety.
- Comprehends the financial significance of the supply chain.
- Capable of working alone, yet possesses strong collaboration skills.
- Capacity to interact with experts and upper management
