POSITION: Senior General Manager (SGM)
Job Description
Bolt seeks a Senior General Manager (SGM) to manage our ride-hailing operations in Nigeria and Ghana. This is a senior leadership position that bridges strategy and execution, where your choices will directly influence the future of urban mobility in West Africa. As SGM, you will be responsible for the success of two essential markets, fostering sustainable growth, and making sure Bolt stays the preferred platform for drivers and riders alike.
You will develop and maintain strong connections with regulators, government representatives, local communities, and business partners while ensuring our teams remain engaged, motivated, and performing optimally.
About the Position
This is more than a management position; it’s a chance to drive significant change on a large scale. You will work closely with HQ teams (Growth Analytics, Expansion, Central Operations, Marketing, Product, Regulatory, CS), directly report to the Regional Director for Africa & Southeast Asia, and motivate teams in two key countries crucial to Bolt’s growth in Africa. Nigeria and Ghana are essential growth markets for Bolt in Africa: dynamic, competitive, and abundant in opportunities.
In the role of Senior GM, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the mobility environment in two nations, create significant, measurable effects on a large scale, and make a lasting impression on Bolt’s journey in Africa. You’ll collaborate with enthusiastic teams, daring stakeholders, and face some of the most thrilling mobility challenges globally.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct strategic and yearly business planning for Nigeria and Ghana, making sure that ambitious plans are transformed into effective execution. Identify specific risks, trends, and opportunities within each country, and develop customized strategies to promote growth and address challenges.
- Recognize risks, trends, and opportunities specific to each country, and develop customized strategies to foster growth and address challenges.
- Manage daily operations and financial outcomes, guaranteeing effectiveness and optimal returns from investments.
- Create and execute strategies for market expansion and introduce new services/features to enhance our competitive advantage.
- Manage the P&L for both markets, consistently achieving challenging KPIs.
- Guide and motivate exceptional teams throughout Nigeria and Ghana.
About You:
- You possess a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in a dynamic, high-growth setting.
- Demonstrated success in managing P&L and achieving outcomes.
- Background in commercial operations, with leadership in intricate, fast-growing environments. Outstanding leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities.
