Engineering Jobs in Italy with Visa Sponsorship for Foreigners (€80,000–€98,000 a year)

Italy offers some of the world’s best cultures, which is why so many expats and visitors flock there. So, if you want to succeed in the job market, you must be able to apply and communicate well in the language.

Italy, which is shaped like a boot, is frequently at the top of travel websites’ lists of locations to visit. This is not surprising, given the country’s fascinating blend of ancient and modern cultures.

You may enjoy the sun, stunning surroundings, interesting architecture, and excellent food if you live or work in this old city that is on the cutting edge of fashion and culture.

Also, You may take a vacation from work by visiting art cities such as Florence, which includes sculptures by Michelangelo and Giambologna, or Venice, which has Gothic palazzi and canals. You can also check that item off your list in one of Rome’s wonderful cafés. On other days, you could visit the high-fashion stores of Milan or Naples, the birthplace of contemporary pizza.

Even if living near the Mediterranean is enticing, there aren’t many jobs for competent English speakers due to high competition. People from other countries who speak Italian and have the necessary skills, qualifications, and experience may still be able to find work, particularly in major cities such as Rome, Florence, Milan, and Genoa.

How to Find Work in Italy

In Italy, networking through friends and family is still regarded as a valid method of learning about possible jobs.

Finding a job when you’re already in Italy will be easier because you can start building contacts right away, wherever you wish to go.

If you work for a company with a presence in Italy, you could inquire about possible secondment options. But if this is not possible, make speculative applications, which are encouraged in Italy because many positions are not published. If you choose this way, make sure you complete your research and send your application to the most appropriate person at the company.

Applications for posted opportunities are typically conducted online and include a CV, cover letter, or application form. Unless otherwise specified, all submissions must be presented in Italian. Get your academic transcripts and certifications translated as well to save time.

Job Opportunities in Italy

The International Monetary Fund ranks it as the world’s tenth-largest economy, but its manufacturing and service sectors dominate. Italy’s unemployment rate is 7.8% (September 2022), after reaching double digits during COVID-19.

The north of Italy is industrialized and developed, with many private enterprises, whereas the south relies on agriculture and farming.

Because most of the country’s 60.3 million people live in the north, ambitious graduates are more likely to find jobs in Milan, Turin, and Genoa.

With millions of tourists visiting Italy each year to see its famous sights, casual jobs and temporary contracts in the tourism industry are easier to find than permanent work.

Most Italians don’t speak English, so you’ll likely need to learn it before finding work. However, tourism and education will value your English skills. Employment in teaching English as a foreign language is widespread.

Services, especially wholesale, retail, and transportation, dominate the economy. Luxury goods like clothing, automobiles, and furnishings are what drive Italy’s economy. Italy produces lots of wine, olive oil, and fruit.

Italy has fewer worldwide firms than other European countries, although Ferrari, Lamborghini, Gucci, Prada, Versace, and Armani are strong Italian brands.

Positions are typically advertised online and through staffing agencies.
