POSITION: Fundraising Manager

Objective of Position

The Fundraising Manager oversees the generation of sustainable income expansion for EduSpots, both in Ghana and globally. This position merges strategic collaboration with innovative fundraising, achieving quantifiable outcomes in line with yearly objectives. Collaborating closely with the Head of Philanthropy, the Fundraising Manager will integrate revenue generation throughout networks, corporations, communities, and individuals, ensuring that income sources back EduSpots’ long-term mission and impact.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

Capital raising & Resource procurement

  • Collaborate with the Head of Philanthropy to spearhead the creation of a fundraising strategy in Ghana.
  • Involve Ghanaian networks in EduSpots’ broader fundraising efforts (e.g. The Big Give Campaign).
  • Spearhead the creation of a corporate strategy in Ghana, collaborating closely with the Head of Philanthropy.
  • Organize and facilitate partnership gatherings and meet-ups in Accra to familiarize individuals with our initiatives, contributing to our 100 Club.
  • Assist in leading online events aimed at familiarizing new supporters with our initiatives.
  • Manage book, digital device, and broader resource collections in Accra, fostering connections with NGOs, businesses, and individuals both in Ghana and globally.

Online course management

  • Oversee the marketing, management, and assessment of EduSpots’ online course program, collaborating with schools, businesses, and individuals globally.
  • Supervise student engagement and confirm certification according to established guidelines.
  • Aid the establishment of broader educational collaborations for revenue generation.
  • Coordinate paid education sessions with members of the programs team.
  • Assisting fundraising initiatives led by the community
  • Provide training for fundraising and conduct professional development sessions for volunteer teams rooted in the community.
  • Assisting the Head of Leadership Programmes in managing a local partnerships database for the Spots network.

EduSpots Encounter (Earnings & Participation)

  • Manage the implementation of the EduSpots Experience in Elmina, focusing on strategic income generation and fostering relationships.
  • Manage the EduSpots Experience’s social media channels and broader communications, establishing it as a key initiative for generating income and fostering engagement.
  • Organize and manage broader virtual tours and discussions about EduSpots’ activities as required.

Broader Duties

  • Play a vital role in the fundraising strategy as an essential part of the fundraising team.
  • Assist with donor visits and periodic Spot visits.
  • Assist in EduSpots’ staff training and development initiative.
  • Proactive contribution to EduSpots’ broader organizational strategy.
  • Assist with developing organizational requirements as necessary.

Required Skills or Experience

Competencies, Background, and Qualities

  • Demonstrated success in generating income from individuals or communities, preferably within a comparable education or international development organization.
  • Experience in creating and sustaining profitable relationships (e.g. with educational institutions, businesses, individuals, and communities)
  • Background in digital marketing to attract new charity backers/donors (including utilizing paid ads and creative engagement strategies).
  • Experience in donor conversion strategies and email marketing
  • Effective communication and marketing abilities,
  • The capability to perform efficiently in a remote position with little daily assistance.
  • Robust management of internal and external relationships.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, capacity to meet strict deadlines.
  • Robust IT abilities – Google Workspace, MS Office, Zoom, Canva, social platforms.
  • Consistency with EduSpots’ fundamental principles of compassion, enthusiasm, collaboration, lasting influence, community guidance, and enjoyment.

Attractive

  • Experience in overseeing and reporting to financial backers
  • Comprehension of education and community-driven frameworks for development
