DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REGULAR STUDENT AND FEE-PAYING STUDENTS
Every year new students enroll in various tertiary institutions in a country. Their admission thereof is good grounds for them to take the required steps towards their future career destination. University, as a tertiary institution is the most preferred choice of most people. The education offered there is believed to be the prominent one. When someone gets education from the university, that person is considered an apex preference among his colleagues in the same field of study but rather from other institutions. Educational programs offered in tertiary institutions differ even to point of cost of that program. Though the same university, yet the cost of the chosen educational programs differs. Like products in a merchant field, the quality of a good will determine it price.
Some people prefer to offer certain educational programs in tertiary institutions. This is where the government of that country subsidizes the tuition fees of that individual and payment is only due to other expenses. So, if as regular student is not available, some will prefer to meet the requirements again in order to become regular students.
Some however, choose to become fee-paying students, for that same educational program. These do so after considering the cost since the cost will go up. Fee paying students pay the tuition fees themselves including other expenses covered by regular students as well.
Usually, regular students hail from homes from low income wage to high income wage. Fee paying students are usually from high income homes. Regular students only enjoy their title in public universities. Fee paying students experience their conditions in both public and private universities. The regular students can go far with their studies as far as the government wants them to go with the money they contributed. Fee paying students can demand more with the money they are ready to pay themselves. Fee paying students only have to meet the minimum requirements to enroll in a program of study. Usually regular students are indigenous folks, to say, they are usually citizens of that particular country. Fee paying students are usually foreigners and these, at this point have to meet the requirement for admission.
