DEATH OF T’ADI GIRLS: Family hung up call on Akuffo Addo

A lot of surprises are coming up with the Inspector General of Police haven announced in a press conference the death of the Takoradi girls. President Akuffo is in the news to have called the parents of the deceased, Ruth Love Quayson.

At the time, the family was very furious over how the police service communicated the DNA test results to them. According to the police it was only through a verbal communication.

Some senior police officers were at the residence of the deceased to brief the family. According to Kwame Tawiah, an uncle to Ruth, said while the police officers were with the family, President Akufo-Addo called and wanted to talk to them.

“My sister asked them who is Akufo-Addo, does he know the families whose children are missing?” he recalled, “Akufo-Addo called on the phone but nobody spoke to him”.

Certainly they were unhappy only to receive a message of condolence from President Akuffo Addo. To them, at a point they needed him most, such calls never came in.

They accused the president of haven snubbed the family when he was in the region for his tour. He said that the president never visited them.

“I’m not sure Nana Akufo-Addo can talk to the family. When you [referring to the president] came to town, you couldn’t see the family but when they are bringing us fake report that is when you want to talk to us, we don’t need his call.” Tawiah hinted.
