Australia 190 and 491 Visa Nominations in 2024 | Australia Skilled Worker Visa

Professionals with expertise can choose from several pathways that lead to permanent residency in Australia; each pathway has unique benefits for starting a family and advancing a career. The State Nomination Pathway is the most crucial of these pathways as a strategic option for anyone trying to establish themselves in certain Australian States or territories.

In 2024, this route will still be a viable means of gaining permanent residency in Australia, providing candidates with the potential to secure State sponsorship and raise their prospects of receiving PR.

In this blog, we will discuss the advantages of state nomination as well as all state and territory skilled visa applications from July 2023 to March 2024.

Exploring Visa Options: Subclass 190 and Subclass 491

The Subclass 190 Visa, also referred to as the Skilled Nominated Visa, is one of the main visa classifications associated with state nomination. The purpose of this visa is to permit permanent residency and employment in the specified Australian state or territory for the migrant.

To be eligible for the Subclass 190 Visa, candidates must first be nominated by a state or territory government agency and then fulfill the standards set forth by the Department of Home Affairs, which include passing an English language proficiency test and completing a skill evaluation.

The Subclass 491 Visa, also known as the Skilled Regional Provisional Visa, is a different kind of visa that is associated with state nomination in addition to the Subclass 190 Visa. The purpose of this visa is to address the shortage of skilled labor in Australia’s rural areas, draw immigrants to live there, and foster the development of these communities.

As with the Subclass 190 Visa, applicants for the Subclass 491 Visa cannot apply without first receiving a nomination from a state or territory government agency.

Second, state sponsorship increases the applicant’s likelihood of being requested to apply for a skilled visa since it grants candidates priority processing from the Department of Home Affairs. Additionally, through state nomination, immigrants can live in states or territories where there is a need for their abilities, which will help with their assimilation and employment.

Holders of the Subclass 491 Visa are required to live and work in a designated Regional area for a certain period before applying for permanent residency.
