Australia Expression of Interest Process for PR in 2024 | EOI for Australia Visa

Top candidates are asked to apply in Australia after submitting an Expression of Interest for one of the many Visa Subclasses that are offered. If you want to live and work in Australia, you need to familiarize yourself with the Expression of Interest for Australian immigration.

This is because filing an Expression of Interest is an essential part of the application procedure for several work visas from Australia. You should wait to submit an Expression of Interest until after you have been able to ascertain your points test result, as this is a crucial factor in determining your eligibility to live and work in Australia.

To improve your chances of getting an invitation, you may also want to obtain a nomination from a state or territory government before submitting an EOI. This blog will cover all the information you require for the Australian Expression of Interest in 2024, including the deadlines for applications and the handling of EOI for applicants.

Processing of EOI for Independent and Family-sponsored Applicants

Periodically, the Department of Home Affairs reviews the EOIs submitted by self-sponsored and independent candidates. Every two weeks, the best candidates are invited to apply for skilled migration, which is currently point-tested. The quotas set for each occupational group are referred to as the “Occupational Ceiling.”

Those with higher qualifications, more work experience, and superior English language skills will have a higher chance of receiving an invitation, with a higher point total, as invites are delivered to the candidates with the highest scores.

Processing of EOI for State-Nominated Applicants

  • To receive a nomination from a state or territorial authority, you must first submit your EOI. The state or territory government will normally give you an invitation to apply for Skill Select candidates as soon as they have finished the nomination process.
  • Tested points: As of July 1, 2023, you must have a passing score of 65 points to be invited. Governments and territories may maintain internal quotas for specific vocations, even though state-nominated candidates are immune from occupational constraints.
  • Application deadline following invitation: Once you receive an invitation, you have sixty days to apply for a visa. If you are unable to apply during this window, your invitation expires, and just because you receive an invitation once does not guarantee that you will receive another one in the future.

In any event, you are limited to receiving two invites before your application is removed from the EOI system. Being prepared ahead of time will help you make sure you are prepared to take advantage of the chance when it arises.

Please do not hesitate to contact a registered immigration consultant if you would like a thorough assessment of your circumstances or if you would like assistance completing your Expression of Interest and visa application.

Outcome of Expression of Interest

If your expression of interest is approved, you will receive an invitation to apply for a visa or you will be contacted by an Australian employer to discuss employment and sponsorship opportunities. The top-ranked EOIs in the Independent and Skilled Regional Provisional Visa category will automatically get Invitations to Apply.

The states and territories that sponsor visas will identify and choose skilled individuals, therefore, the frequency of these invites is usually once a month and is limited by vocation. Please be advised that before the candidate applies, the state or territory may get in touch with them. The Skill Select system will grant you the Invitation to Apply if you are chosen and your point total exceeds the necessary passing mark.

What if you are not invited to apply for a Visa?

If you are not invited to apply, your Expression of Interest will stay in Skill Select for a maximum of two years. However, some Expressions of Interest will not receive an invitation to apply because more people want to immigrate to Australia than there are spots available.

You will be asked to supply no supporting documents with your Expression of Interest for Australian immigration, so whatever information you provide will be taken at face value. Who can help you with your Australian visa application is also made clear by the Australian government’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Only migration agents who have registered with MARA are authorized to provide immigration advice and assistance.
