Harley Reed is a professional services organization operating in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa. Whilst the business offers a diverse offering, a large portion of this role will be supporting the knowledge services area of the business which focuses on competency assessment, skills development, and professional education. This role is based in Ghana.

Now based in 6 countries, Harley Reed intends to further expand across the European, African, and Middle East markets to offer a broad range of integrated professional services.

Job Purposes

The audit manager plays a key role in ensuring that risk management and auditing processes are carried out successfully. This role requires the employee to be well-acquainted with tax, profit and loss, balance sheets, and group audit standards. Managers are also required to keep up to date with any changes in accounting rules and regulations. In addition, the role holder will have the opportunity to provide a variety of non-assurance services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the accounting and auditing team in their daily functions.
  • Preparing and managing audit budgets.
  • Verifying company financial information.
  • Planning and performing company financial audits.
  • Creating and managing internal auditing systems.
  • Preparing audit reports and statements for company managers.
  • Resolving client audit queries efficiently.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and company best practices.
  • Training and mentoring Audit Interns.

Education

  • Professional Accounting qualification and/or a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Experience

  • Six (6) + years of external audit experience with exposure across a range of sectors.
  • Experience in managing teams of at least 4 team members.
  • Able to work well within a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
