Alberta will prioritize candidates who have family in the province
Alberta has said that it will change its immigration rules to make it easier for people who already have ties to the area to move to Canada.
In the statement, it was said that 25% of provincial Express Entry nominations will go to people in high-demand jobs who already have family members living in Alberta. Parents, children, or brothers who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and live in Alberta are considered close family.
Rajan Sawhney, Alberta’s minister of trade, immigration, and multiculturalism, said, “This approach will help make sure Alberta’s economy does well by giving a portion of provincial nominations to in-demand workers who will have a great support network from day one.”
Alberta’s prudent approach will benefit the state and newcomers. Alberta prevents brain drain by providing precedence to persons with family in the province. Brain drain occurs when smart people move abroad for greater opportunities. Alberta is increasing the likelihood that skilled workers will stay and enhance the province’s economy by bringing in foreigners with local links.
