Express Entry for Skilled Worker & International Graduates 2024 | BCPNP & OINP
In the most recent PNP draws, candidates are invited to submit for nomination from Ontario and British Columbia. This week’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) drawings have invited candidates to two Canadian provinces. The PNP is how the federal and provincial/territorial governments of Canada share responsibility for immigration.
Each province and territory, except Quebec and Nunavut, is given a certain number of nominations by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to choose economic immigrants who are most compatible with the local labor force and economy. A province’s nomination does not equate to permanent residency.
However, candidates who successfully seek provincial nomination will have an advantage when submitting an application to the IRCC for permanent residence status.
Ontario PNP
This week, the Ontario Immigrant Nominees Program (OINP) extended invitations to 402 individuals in three drawings spread over two days. On June 17, the first two draws were held. 84 applicants were invited to apply for the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream. Candidates for assistant positions and early childhood educators were specifically pursued. To be taken into consideration, one had to receive at least a score of 60.
106 Early Childhood Educators and helpers from the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream were likewise the focus of the day’s second draw. For these candidates to be granted an ITA, their score had to be 39 or above.
212 candidates from OINP’s French-speaking Skilled Worker Express Entry Stream were finally welcomed through a draw on June 20. Since the draw was general, applicants with scores between 305 and 409 were not targeted and were taken into consideration for any occupation.
British Columbia PNP
More than seventy candidates were asked to file for provincial nomination by the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program on June 18. Invitations were sent to participants in the program’s International Graduate and Skilled Worker Streams, including those who chose the Express Entry BC option. Five targeted lotteries were performed by the Province to find people for particular jobs.
Those working in the tech industry received the most invitations (35) of any profession. For consideration, they had to receive at least 122 points. In addition, 14 applicants with a minimum score of 102 in healthcare professions were invited by the province. A minimum score of 93 was required for the 11 invited applicants in construction occupations and the 10 in childcare occupations.
Lastly, applicants with a minimum score of 80 and less than five applicants in a veterinary care occupation were invited

New Priority Occupations for Express Entry
A new category-based selection technique for Express Entry was announced by the IRCC on May 31, 2023. This system enables Canada to issue invitations to apply (ITAs) to potential permanent residents who meet certain requirements in terms of training, language proficiency, or skills. On June 28, 2023, these draws got underway, and we may anticipate seeing more of them throughout the year.
What Is Express Entry?
The IRCC developed Express Entry as an immigration system to handle applications for permanent residents who want to work in Canada. Through this system, candidates can apply for one of four programs: the Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Every draw will be tailored to one of these categories, focusing on eligible and qualified applicants from the Express Entry pool!
Fast-track Immigration through PNPs
Applying for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) may provide you with a greater chance and yield results more quickly if you are interested in relocating to a particular province. As a result, the provinces and territories can propose competent individuals to work there. It could happen much faster if you have a job that is highly sought after!
