Alberta creates new immigration program for tech workers
In the province of Alberta, the city of Calgary is having a boom in the field of information technology (IT). This is because big companies like Amazon, Plug, and Play, and Mphasis have moved there, creating a high demand for IT professionals.
Alberta can choose people to send a “Notification of Interest” letter to based on the information in their record on the Federal Express Entry (EE) portal.
The province of Alberta may send you an invitation letter if:
- Your Express Entry page is up and running
- The main job on your resume is one that helps Alberta’s economy grow and diversify. For example, you work in the IT field.
- You want to move to Alberta for good.
- you have at least 300 points
- Here are the 23 qualified jobs, in order of their National Occupational Classification (NOC) code:
- 0013 Senior managers for business services in finance, marketing, and other areas
- 0112 People who work in human resources
- 0131 Manager of a telecommunications company
- 0211 Engineering managers
- 0212 People in charge of architecture and science

- 0601 Managers of sales for companies
- 1123 Jobs in advertising, marketing, and public relations

- you’ve been offered a job in Alberta
- you got your degree from a post-secondary school in Canada
- You have a parent, child, brother, or sister who lives in Alberta and is a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen.
