POSITION: Registrar

The Governing Council of Accra Technical University (ATU) invites applications from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the esteemed position of Registrar. The Position and Its Scope

The Registrar serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Operating Officer under the Vice Chancellor. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University in accordance with Council policy directives. Furthermore, you will act as Secretary to the Office of the Chancellor, the University Governing Council, and the Academic Board.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree, preferably in Administration, Management, or a closely related field.
Have served as a Deputy Registrar in a university or in a comparable grade within a similar institution for at least six years.
Must be fully computer literate and proficient in relevant administrative systems.
Possess an unblemished character with a high degree of personal integrity and mature, sober judgment.
Demonstrate a servant leadership ethos with the capacity to plan, organize, and manage all activities of the Registrar’s Office.
Exhibit the ability to provide sound administrative advice to the Vice Chancellor.
Have extensive experience in managing comprehensive student and staff records aligned with the university’s mission and accreditation standards.

Terms of Appointment

The successful candidate will be appointed for an initial four-year term, renewable once, subject to performance and the statutory retirement age of 60. The terms and conditions, including salary, will be determined by the University Governing Council in line with the Technical Universities Act and the University’s Statutes, ensuring competitiveness with similar institutions in Ghana.
