POSITION: Area Sales Manager
Core Deliverables
- Plan and achieve monthly sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Ensure product availability across all distributor outlets.
- Identify, create, and implement opportunities with distributors to increase sales and market penetration.
- Manage all sales resources efficiently within the assigned area.
- Guide the team to optimize their performance toward achieving territory goals.
- Supervise, coach, and train team members to improve their sales and merchandising effectiveness.
Other Responsibilities
- Prepare periodic territory plans with clear performance indicators.
- Manage distributors effectively and ensure proper use of allocated resources.
- Support and guide customers to improve product distribution and delivery.
- Conduct regular market supervision, including price checks, competitor analysis, and tracking market trends.
- Provide accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts for the territory.
- Implement the agreed sales and marketing plan in coordination with the Branch Manager.
- Monitor distributor sales, stock levels, and product availability each week to ensure monthly targets are met.
- Create and implement recovery plans when distributors fall short of their targets.
- Develop and carry out training programs for the team in partnership with the Regional Training Manager.
- Track team performance and give regular feedback for improvement.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to run and evaluate promotional activities in the territory.
Job Requirements
- Minimum qualification: HND with at least five years of experience in a similar position, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Strong territory management skills, including customer mapping, route planning, sales forecasting, and market analysis.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Good analytical and computer skills.
- Ability to track data, analyze sales performance, and create professional presentations.
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using smartphones and modern sales technology.
