POSITION: Account Management Director

Summary

We seek an Account Management Director.

This individual will oversee all MasterCard initiatives including Credit, Debit, Prepaid, and Commercial cards, covering both issuing and acquiring operations, for clients in the Rest of West Africa.

Increase MasterCard’s volume and market share among Issuers and Acquirers while creating additional revenue opportunities through value-added services.

Have you previously engaged in developing a long-term relationship with a major client? Are you able to negotiate, implement, and oversee all facets of the clients’ business? Can you transcend tactical interactions and establish yourself as the trusted strategic advisor for this account?

Are you able to assess a customer’s business using profitability modeling, financial projections, and competitive analysis?

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals for MasterCard offerings and net revenue objectives from both new and existing businesses in the market.
  • Examine the client’s operations via profitability modeling, financial projections, and market competition assessment. Create targeted strategies that provide tailored solutions for the business that enhance profit, revenue expansion, and value generation for both MasterCard and the client, while collaborating closely with MasterCard’s cross-functional teams.
  • Work together with the client to create and implement a yearly strategic account plan, while establishing regular (at least quarterly) review meetings to set, track, and report advancements toward shared goals.
  • Negotiate, finalize, and oversee the customer agreement process, guaranteeing global integration of resources and information exchange.
  • Create and execute sales strategy frameworks encompassing business growth, promotion, marketing, and product management tasks involving clients, potential customers, and internal MasterCard connections.
  • Engaged in all product development for The Rest of West Africa, encompassing the discovery and execution of new features and advantages, closely collaborating with the Africa team and other internal stakeholders in the region.
  • Develop an all-encompassing customer marketing funnel aimed at enhancing portfolio effectiveness (utilization and acquisition).

Everything About You

  • This role provides the chance to oversee every element of the MasterCard partnership with designated clients.
  • The role demands a proactive, commercially savvy business developer with excellent relationship management and influencing abilities to collaborate with customers and MasterCard’s cross-functional teams to design and execute effective payment programs that enhance segment penetration and boost revenues for both MasterCard and the bank.
  • The perfect candidate will have a strong focus on execution, hold substantial experience in the payments industry—preferably acquired in Business Development/Product management on the Issuer side—and be capable of collaborating across various disciplines and functions. He must also be quite at ease working with technology.
  • Strong understanding of retail electronic payments/cards needed from an issuing/acquiring/network viewpoint. (Experience in the banking/payments sector is preferred)
  • Should be capable of synthesizing knowledge across various fields (Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Risk).
