Job Summary
The role is integrated within Barry Callebaut’s local Direct Sourcing Team in Ghana, reporting straight to the District Manager. This position would guarantee accurate records are maintained for all funds obtained and spent, high-quality stocks are received for every seed fund designated to the district, and documentation on farmers/Purchasing Clerks of the stocks received is upheld, while ensuring the Katchile tool is correctly updated at the district level.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Making sure that all seed funds assigned to the district receive quality and comparable stocks.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for all transactions within the district, encompassing all societies (e.g., society waybills, monitors, ledgers, etc.).
- Accountable for quality control, removal of sealed stocks, and accurate record maintenance on cocoa reception/transportation to the port; Preparation of siding depot waybill, and guaranteeing grading/scaling.
- Collaborate closely with the District/Warehouse Team on Traceability and associated matters, while overseeing other district personnel such as Traceability coaches, depot laborers, and Security guards through training, coaching, performance measurement, and discipline.
- Make sure to input the correct entries into the specified web-based platforms and Android apps – Katchile.
- Accountable for tracking all company assets and equipment used in the district.
- Make sure that the volumes supplied by farmers are noted in both the PC stock control log and the farmer’s passbook.
- Check and authenticate farmer listings/deliveries with Purchasing Clerks, along with the volumes delivered compared to sourcing records.
- Adhere to procedures and privacy guidelines to protect data and information.
- Support the district manager in performing his responsibilities and any other tasks given.
About You:
- First degree / HND / ACCA I / ICAI / CIMAI with a focus on Accounting
- Two years of experience in the cocoa bean sourcing sector in Ghana in a comparable position is a plus.
- Capacity to inspire, oversee, organize, and track the activities of staff and service providers while performing under stress.
- Skilled in MS Office applications – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel at an adequate level.
- Effective report writing, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and a collaborative team member.
- Being able to converse in the local language is a significant benefit.
- Driven and capable of managing time and stress effectively.
- Ready and prepared to serve in the rural areas of Ghana.
