POSITION: Finance And Admin Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Finance and Admin Officer will handle project financial reporting and offer administrative assistance to personnel. He/She will collaborate with the project team to uphold effective financial management standards and guarantee adherence to Donor and SEND GHANA’s financial protocols, policies, and guidelines.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Oversee financial management elements of projects, such as generating monthly financial reports for donors, handling procurement procedures, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping and documentation.
- Help management to uphold effective, clear accounting and financial management internal control systems.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process for projects and offer budget management assistance to project personnel.
- Collaborate with the program team to create monthly project budget workplans, track discrepancies, and assess compliance with these budgets.
- Offer financial support, as required, to local project partners regarding financial compliance and reporting.
- Examine retirement and other expense supporting documents to verify accuracy, fairness, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with SEND’s financial protocols.
- Make certain that monthly bank reconciliation statements are generated, signed, and stored by the correct personnel.
- Assist the Finance Manager in generating yearly financial statements, budgets, and management reports.
- Support the internal and external audit or examination of project financial records.
Required Qualifications or Experience
EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a recognized university; a master’s degree would be advantageous.
- Working towards a professional accounting qualification – at least CA (Final Level) or ACCA (Strategic Professional).
- A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in financial management within an NGO, auditing, or a related area.
- Skilled in digital accounting, QuickBooks software for donor reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Outlook applications.
- Robust interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication abilities in English.
- Lastly, demonstrate abilities like strong organization, focus on details, collaboration, and effective communication skills.
