POSITION: Assistant Manager, Information Technology
Job Overview
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Information Technology, the Assistant Manager, Information Technology will provide support in the efficient planning, execution, and oversight of the organization’s IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity efforts, while overseeing the implementation of core systems and leading a team of technical officers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key duties of the Assistant Manager, Information Technology comprise the following:
- Supervise the efforts of Senior Officers and Officers in managing hardware, software, and user systems.
- Oversee IT spending to guarantee economical efficiency
- Assist with system administration, network oversight, and infrastructure setup.
- Guarantee the installation and upkeep of hardware, software, and network infrastructures.
- Oversee interactions with IT suppliers, negotiate agreements, and assess external technology options.
- Track threats, perform frequent risk evaluations and react to incidents efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years of pertinent experience with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management position
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, information systems, or a similar discipline.
- Certifications like PMP, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, or COBIT are beneficial
- Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, sophisticated systems integration and architecture. Experience in the financial industry, extractive sector, governmental body, or international organization will be beneficial.
