POSITION: Lead Mechanical Technician

About This Position
The position will be accountable for preserving, fixing, and setting up mechanical systems and machinery, guaranteeing their efficient and safe functionality.
Main Duties
- Collaborate with a team to deliver maintenance assistance to the process plant and mine.
- Offer maintenance assistance for process machinery such as crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, grinding mills, gravity concentrators, hydro cyclones, flotation cells, and pressure filters to ensure peak performance.
- Observe equipment status and raise concerns to avert additional decline;
- Diagnose, renovate, fix, and service conveyors, Mobile, Jaw, and Cone crushers.
- Execute significant mechanical overhauls, refurbishments, and repairs to equipment according to AGBL’s maintenance protocols and standards.
- Perform regular maintenance, such as applying grease or lubrication.
- Perform repairs and/or adjustments to the facility’s parts, which may involve minor fabrication tasks.
- Examining and comprehending blueprints before commencing a project.
- Assess and trim materials according to requirements.
- Examine completed work to ensure it complies with the tolerances specified in the blueprints.
- Fixing and creating chutes, pipelines, reservoirs, frameworks, and launders.
- Make certain that every component is correctly positioned, aligned, and secured.
- Follow assembly safety regulations.
Education, Professional Experience & Essential Skills
- At least a Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET I) Certificate or an Advanced Welding and Metals Fabrication Certificate or an equivalent trade certificate from an accredited institution.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification experience as a Mechanic or boilermaker within a processing facility;
- Skills in problem-solving and making decisions.
- Active knowledge and comprehension of operational practices and metallurgy in process plants.
- Outstanding abilities in both spoken and written English communication.
- Strong skills in writing metallurgical reports.
- Show capability to propose innovative concepts to enhance plant productivity.
