Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships For Ghanaians

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaian applicants for the scholarship programs in Japan for April/October 2023. The scholarship programs are for students who wish to study in Japan as Research Students (Masters/Ph.D./ Research) only.

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MEXT)  SCHOLARSHIPS TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The (MEXT) scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of the Japanese Government. It is offered to help international students seeking to study in Japanese Universities. Students can either be regular or non-regular students. Details about the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program are available below:

Eligibility Criteria For Applicants

The aim of the scholarship program is for the Japanese Government to build friendships with other International countries. Interested applicants must meet the following requirements

• Firstly, interested applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. However, applicants who are nationals of Japan at the time of application are not eligible. But, applicants with dual citizenship who hold Japanese nationality and live outside of Japan can apply. But, they must choose the nationality of the other country. Therefore renouncing their Japanese nationality by the date of their arrival in Japan.
• Also, applicants must not be less than 38 years old at the time of application.
• In addition to that, interested applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language.
• Also, candidates must have research skills and be willing to adapt to living in Japan.
• Additionally, a medical practitioner must confirm that applicants do not have any physical or mental conditions that may interfere with applicants’ study in Japan. Kindly note that the Japanese Embassy in Ghana will inform those who will submit the medical certificate.
• Moreover, applicants must indicate the preferred month to start education in Japan. Therefore, applicants must decide on selecting between April 2023, September, or October 2023 when filling out the application form.

CLOSING DATE OF APPLICATION:

The closing date of the application is Friday 10th June 2022.

Emphatically, interested applicants must note the following:

• The first thing to note is that the scholarship schedule COULD BE CHANGED OR EVEN CANCELLED depending on prevailing circumstances.
• Also, only shortlisted applicants will submit medical certificates. The Japanese Embassy in Ghana will inform those who will submit the medical certificate.
• Lastly, applicants should NOT use the forms for the previous year.
