SENIOR LECTURER – COMPUTER SCIENCE / INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

THE ACCRA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (AIT), — A DYNAMIC LEADING PRIVATE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN GHANA, IS LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED AND HIGHLY MOTIVATED INDIVIDUALS FOR THE FOLLOWING FACULTY (ACADEMIC) & ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION FULL-TIME POSITION: SENIOR LECTURER – COMPUTER SCIENCE / INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Responsibilities

• Your role will involve teaching in university courses and study programmes at first- and second-cycle levels, as well as research and working in contract research and education in the area of information technology (IT) and learning.
• Duties include the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, which involves seminar management, course development, course responsibility, essay supervision and assessment.
• Administrative tasks related to your teaching activities may also be included.
• Your duties are performed in close cooperation with colleagues in the environment at the Department, which has IT and learning as its knowledge domain.
• Your duties also include participating in building up education in the area of IT and learning at the University, and over time taking on a greater share of the responsibility for this work.
• An additional important duty is development work in the area of IT and learning – in higher education, as well as in schools and other organisations.
• Your duties will also include conducting research in the area of IT and learning, and being active in joint seminar activities, working with doctoral education and the supervision of doctoral students.
• Your work will include international publication and participation in national and international networks and, in collaboration with others, applying for external research funding.

Qualifications

• Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
• Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfill their probation).
