POSITION: Senior Lead, Governance and Compliance

As Senior Lead, Governance and Compliance, you will join a team that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Your Mission: Safeguard IT Governance and Compliance

You will provide critical support across all IT Governance, Compliance, and risk control functions. Your work will ensure minimal disruptions while maintaining alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will lead risk assessments, monitor compliance, coordinate business continuity planning, and collaborate across departments to foster a culture of IT related compliance. Your expertise will guide the organization through audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans risk management, compliance monitoring, audit coordination, and strategic collaboration. Here is what you will tackle:

Risk Assessment & Management

  • You will lead the performance of risk assessments to understand the level, significance, and scope of risks facing the IT division.
  • Maintaining the IT Risk Register ensures ongoing visibility into our risk posture and drives informed decision making.

Compliance & Governance

  • Keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations allows you to provide current, accurate guidance.
  • Supporting the development of governance documentation including policies, processes, procedures, standards, and training materials strengthens our control environment.
  • Leading the monitoring of IT compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies ensures we remain aligned with expectations.

Audit & Issue Management

  • Ensuring that all Audit and Risk findings are recorded and followed up with management guarantees that issues receive proper attention and resolution.
  • Coordinating BCP activities across the IT Division and liaising with the ERM Team builds resilience into our operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Supporting the Manager in liaising with Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance, and Corporate Compliance Regulatory teams keeps communication flowing.
  • Collaborating with other IT departments to create a culture of IT related compliance embeds governance into daily operations.

Training & Administrative Support

  • Performing training programs on GRC for IT staff builds capability and awareness across the division.
  • Assisting in conducting internal assessments of IS policies, frameworks, standards, processes, and procedures against IT audit standards identifies gaps for improvement.
  • Performing various general administrative duties such as tracker creation and maintenance of ongoing projects keeps operations organized.

Project & Audit Coordination

  • Coordinating support for IT audits, requests, and system investigations ensures timely and thorough responses.
  • Liaising with the Project Office to increase project visibility and portfolio management aligns governance with execution.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right education, certifications, experience, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:

Education

  • A minimum of a University Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Certifications

  • Certified Compliance Officer
  • ITIL Certified
  • COBIT 2019 Certified
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Appropriate Risk Management certification
  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
  • GRC certified or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certified
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma give you an added advantage

Experience

  • A minimum of four years of progressive experience in computing, information security, and governance, including experience with Internet technology and security issues.
  • Telecommunications industry experience.
  • At least two years in a supervisory role within Compliance Monitoring and Quality Management.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing, auditing, risk analysis, business resumption planning, and contingency planning.
