POSITION: Manager, Transformation Programs
MTN Ghana is seeking a Manager, Transformation Programs to join our Business Transformation department. If you hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or management, possess project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2, and have advanced proficiency in performance analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau, this role offers the opportunity to drive execution of enterprise wide initiatives, manage cross functional coordination, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

As Manager, Transformation Programs, you will not simply manage projects; you will define program scope, develop budgets, establish steering committees, monitor risks, and collaborate with HR on change management. Your Mission
You will take responsibility for driving the execution of enterprise wide transformation initiatives. Your role includes leading program planning, coordination, and execution across the enterprise. You will also establish governance structures including steering committees and working groups, monitor program progress and risks, and ensure compliance with project governance frameworks. Additionally, you will engage key stakeholders, integrate change management principles, identify and mitigate risks, and track performance against KPIs.

Your role spans program planning, governance, stakeholder management, change management, risk management, and performance monitoring. Here is what you will tackle:
Program Planning & Execution
- You will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic transformation programs across the enterprise.
- Defining program scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Developing and managing program plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
Governance & Oversight
- You will establish governance structures for transformation programs, including steering committees and working groups.
- Monitoring and reporting program progress, risks, issues, and interdependencies to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with project governance frameworks, methodologies, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Management
- You will engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders to secure commitment and buy in.
- Facilitating effective communication between program teams, business units, and executive leadership.
Change Management
- You will integrate change management principles into transformation initiatives to drive adoption and minimize resistance.
- Collaborating with HR to deliver stakeholder engagement, training, and support.
Risk & Issue Management
- You will identify, assess, and mitigate program level risks and issues.
- Developing contingency and recovery plans to address challenges affecting delivery.
Performance Monitoring & Benefits Realization
- You will track and measure program performance against defined KPIs and strategic objectives.
- Working with the Portfolio Governance & Analytics team to ensure planned benefits are tracked and achieved.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Certifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA or MPA) gives you an added advantage.
- Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of experience in business transformation, strategy execution, or enterprise project delivery, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
- Strong experience in process improvement methodologies in large organizations, such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross functional initiatives in operational excellence programs.
- Advanced proficiency in performance analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Experience in telecoms, digital, or highly regulated industries is preferred.
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Advanced knowledge and good appreciation of continuous improvement methodologies and tools including Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and transformation frameworks.
- Proficiency in project management tools and enterprise portfolio management systems.
- Expertise in process improvement and operational excellence programs.
- Proficiency in change management practices and tools.
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Strategic thinking with strong business acumen.
- Process reengineering and optimization skills.
- Strong stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced program management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
