Job Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Indian curry dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Operate the traditional tandoor oven to cook naan, roti, kebabs, and tandoori meats
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and taste for all orders
- Assist with menu preparation and recipe standardization when required
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations and equipment
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations according to Australian standards
- Support stock control, ingredient storage, and food preparation processes
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Monitor cooking times to ensure efficient service and food quality
Job Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience working in an Indian kitchen environment
- Experience with curry preparation and tandoor cooking techniques
- Relevant culinary qualification, such as Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Good understanding of Indian spices, gravies, and cooking styles
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
