Yellow Power International is seeking an experienced Surface Mining Operations Superintendent to direct all mining activities at our site. About the Role

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will assume full responsibility for open pit mining operations. Your leadership will drive operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. This position requires a hands-on approach to daily supervision alongside the strategic vision to implement continuous improvements across all mining activities.

Key Responsibilities

As Surface Mining Operations Superintendent, you will:

Develop and execute comprehensive mine plans and production schedules
Monitor and optimize production metrics, ore grades, and operational expenditures
Lead safety initiatives through regular inspections, audits, and compliance verification
Manage labor, equipment, and material costs to align with budgetary targets
Prepare detailed monthly operational reports and processing invoices
Conduct performance evaluations and coordinate team training programs
Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders
Implement cost reduction strategies and business improvement initiatives
Champion annual budget preparations and expenditure monitoring
Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and permit conditions

Qualifications and Experience

Required Credentials:

Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering
Certificate of Competency in Surface Blasting from the Minerals Commission
Mine Foreman Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission
Mine Captain’s Certificate of Competency for surface mining
Mine Superintendent Certificate of Competency for surface mining
Valid Ghanaian driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 8 years as a Mining Engineer in open pit operations
Proven experience supervising daily mining activities with high productivity
Demonstrated leadership in safety management and regulatory compliance
Strong background in cost control and budget management
Excellent analytical skills for operational improvements
