POSITION: Production Manager

Job Summary
The Production Manager will collaborate with the general manager to manage production activities throughout Truecoco’s soya, shea, and trading facilities. This position is essential for guaranteeing effective, safe, and compliant production procedures while upholding the utmost standards of product quality and operational excellence.
The role is located in Tema, Ghana, and will directly report to the General Manager and Managing Director.
Duties
- Help with scheduling production for soya, shea, and trading activities.
- Oversee production shifts to guarantee effectiveness and consistency.
- Manage truck operations as necessary.
- Confirm that product quality aligns with global export standards.
- Manage organic compliance procedures, encompassing farmer groups and production records.
- Assist with certification audits (Organic, GMP+, comparable standards).
- Oversee, sustain, and enhance manufacturing equipment (expellers, extruders, shea processing machines).
- Conduct and supervise regular maintenance and technical problem-solving.
- Verify that electrical and mechanical systems function properly.
- Offer direct guidance to the production team.
- Create training initiatives to enhance local capability.
- Promote an environment of safety, excellence, and responsibility.
- Consistently inform management about production metrics and obstacles.
- Recognize operational constraints and execute ongoing enhancements.
- Lastly, facilitate collaboration between departments (purchasing, logistics, quality control).
Required Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineer with over 5 years of experience in senior positions within agri-processing operations.
- Solid grasp of mechanical and electrical systems within industrial processing.
- Demonstrated capacity to oversee production shifts, ensure quality control, and adhere to compliance in a developing nation setting.
- Practical method with a strong focus on detail.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and team leadership qualities.
- Self-reliant, adaptable, and proficient in creative problem-solving.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with soya expellers and extruding machines.
- Knowledge of organic certification systems (EU Organic, NOP) and GMP+ standards.
- Previous experience in agribusinesses within West Africa or emerging markets.
