Job Duties
- Inspect contractor operations on roadway and bridge construction projects
- Perform routine material testing to verify project quality standards
- Measure and track quantities of pay items on-site
- Gather and maintain material certifications and testing reports
- Complete inspector’s daily diaries and other project documentation
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by supervisors
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 2+ years of progressive technician-level experience required
- Active driver’s license required for all field-based work
- Experience interpreting highway construction plans required
- NCDOT certifications, including Concrete Field Technician, preferred
- 4+ years of transportation construction inspection experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions
