1. International tuition fee coverage

2. Annual living stipend
- Students based at Reading who are doing their research may be eligible for a stipend to assist with living expenses.
- The stipend for the 2026/27 academic year is £21,805 per year, which is in line with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) minimum stipend.
- Applicants studying off campus or by distance are not eligible for the stipend provided through the International PhD Studentship Competition.
3. Allowance for training and development
- Successful candidates may be eligible for a £1,000 annual training and development stipend. This cash may be used to support approved research
training and professional development activities in line with the university’s standards.
4. Funding for up to four years of full-time study
- The grant may include four years of full-time PhD education. This provides financing for a significant amount of the time of PhD research, subject to award conditions and continued eligibility.
5. Funding for up to 6 years of part-time study
- Eligible part-time students may receive the scholarship for up to six years. Applicants should review the funding arrangements and study requirements for the relevant course before accepting an offer.
