The University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarships 2027 are a great opportunity for foreign students from selected African nations to study undergraduate and master’s degrees in the UK.
In the 2027 academic year, the University of Manchester will be awarding over 350 scholarships worth in excess of £6 million to international students commencing their studies in September 2027. The scholarships aim to acknowledge academic excellence and help gifted students who can contribute to society and solve big global problems.
Global Futures Scholarships 2027 provides over 150 undergraduate scholarships worth £36,000 each and over 200 master’s scholarships worth £19,000 each. Depending on the circumstances that apply, students graduating with a first-class degree can get £12,000 a year for three years.

Requirements for University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarships for Africans
Undergraduate Eligibility Requirements
Fee-Paying International Student
- International fee-paying students from one of the eligible countries may apply.
Eligible Domicile
- Candidates must be nationals of one of the specified countries for the undergraduate scholarship and have lived there for most of the last three years.
Direct First-Year Entry
You must apply for straight admission to first year in 2027.
Applicants should be qualified or working toward one of the following:
- A levels
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
- South African National Senior Certificate (NSC)
- Independent Examinations Board (IEB) certificate
Self-Funded Status
- Applicants should be self-funded and not supported by others.
UCAS Firm Choice
- Candidates must make the University of Manchester their firm preference through UCAS before 15 May 2027.
Full-Time Study
- This scholarship is only applicable to full-time courses taught at the University of Manchester UK campus.
Postgraduate Requirements
Applicants applying for the University of Manchester Global Futures Master’s Scholarship 2027 must satisfy the following requirements.
Be an International Fee-Paying Student
- Applicants must be residents of one of the eligible countries and pay international fees.
Meet the Domicile Requirement
- Candidates must have resided in their eligible country for the majority of the last three years.
Hold an Unconditional Offer
- You must have a full-time, on-campus unconditional offer to study a master’s at the University of Manchester starting in September 2027.
Submit the Scholarship Application.
- Eligible applicants must complete the online scholarship application form by 20 April 2027. Once an offer-holder has applied and received an academic offer, we will send them the scholarship form.
Be Self-Funded
- You must be self-financed and not sponsored.
