HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR POINTS?

Self-assessment needs to be done with different assessment parameters. Below are some parameters for the self-assessment.

1 . AGE

New Zealand allows up to 55 years persons to apply. Allocated to each age range is a point. One is expected to select their age range under this parameter.

2 . SKILLED EMPLOYMENT

Under this parameter, two options are available. Persons already working in skilled employment in New Zealand and persons who have been offered skilled employment in New Zealand. Persons with none of these are required to leave the parameter blank.

3 . QUALIFICATION

Qualifications are grouped into three levels under this parameter. 3-6, 7 or 8, 9, and above. One is expected to convert their qualification to its equivalent level and select the appropriate level under this category.

Persons who have qualifications awarded them from studying in New Zealand can select that additional option to earn them extra points.

4 . WORK EXPERIENCE

This work experience basically refers to any working experience one might have gained over the years. This experience can be from any sphere of the globe. The number of years for which one has gained working experience is selected.

Also, under this category is another set of free additional points. These points are awarded to candidates with at least one year of working experience in New Zealand.

More years gained working experience amounts to candidates earning more points. Working experience under this category begins from 2 years.

5 . PARTNER

This feature requires partners of candidates to speak English at the same level as candidates are required to. Candidates whose partners qualify can select to answer a few supplementary selections to earn them more extra points.

If after the assessment you have more than 180 points based on the point allocations and criteria, then you qualify to work in New Zealand.
