Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellowship 2027/28

Applications are open for the RWJF Health Policy Fellows program. This midcareer fellowship connects health professionals with federal policy work. Fellows spend a minimum of twelve months in Washington, D.C. The program begins with an intensive orientation each September. Participants meet directly with national health policy leaders. Fellows also engage with Congress members and executive officials.

Financial Benefits

  • $175,000 total stipend across the fellowship period
  • Up to $20,000 for relocation and housing expenses
  • Direct reimbursement through NAM and RWJF funds

Who Can Apply

  • Midcareer professionals from academia, nonprofits, or government
  • Must hold a master’s or doctoral degree
  • Requires at least ten years of full-time work experience
  • Fields include medicine, public health, law, and economics
  • Government relations or advocacy roles aren’t eligible
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
