Hodder Fellowship Program 2027 | Call for Applications
Applications are open for the Hodder Fellowship at Princeton University. This program supports artists showing exceptional promise and potential. Fellows pursue independent projects during one academic year. Notably, no formal teaching is required for this fellowship. Ideal candidates include composers, choreographers, and performance artists.
Visual artists and other humanists also qualify for this program. Selection favors future promise over past achievements alone. The Hodder Fellowship offers “studious leisure” for meaningful creative work. This cycle accepts dance, music, theater, and visual artists.

Who Can Apply
- Open to dance, music, theater, and visual artists only
- Creative writing applicants aren’t eligible this round
- No teaching responsibilities are required or expected
- Cannot hold concurrent teaching roles elsewhere during the fellowship
- Cannot fund work toward an advanced degree
- Past Princeton Arts Fellowship recipients are ineligible
- Applicants with strong existing Princeton ties cannot apply
- May apply for this fellowship twice in a lifetime
