Prak and Daughters Pharmacy Ltd donates glucometers worth GHC90,000 to Health Directorate
Prak and Daughters Pharmacy Ltd, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Appiah Apraku, who doubles as the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa NPP constituency chairman, made a timely donation today to the A-O-B Health Directorate. This forms part of the corporate social responsibility of the company which is done routinely.
The donation which is worth GHC90,000 consist of 300 glucometers. In determining the exact concentration of glucose in the blood, the main gadget needed is the glucometer. This is expected to be shared among the polyclinics, clinics and CHPS compounds across the district.
BACKGROUND OF DONATION
The CEO, Mr Apraku, disclosed to NewsNowGh that this is a timely and relevant donation. “My company received several complaints about the lack of glucometers across the clinics in the district. This has dire consequences. So, I immediately arranged with the management of my company to intervene. What you see today is very timely and relevant to the patients and the directorate,” -Mr Apraku stated.
APPRECIATION
On the part of the District Health Director, Dr. Cletus Bayor, he expressed his profound appreciation to Prak and Daughters for the kind gesture.
“Let me first and foremost express my appreciation to Prak and Daughters. They actually brought the glucometers to be shared among clients. This will help in the timely testing of their conditions. Apart from giving some to the clients, we are also giving some to the various health centers.” Dr. Bayor posited.
Patients in that condition felt overwhelmed, as their hope of healing had now taken shape.
