POSITION: Accountant

Your Mission
You will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring timely tax filings. Your role includes reconciling bank statements, monitoring cash flow, supporting audit processes, and developing internal controls. You will also provide financial analysis to support management decision making.

Financial Reporting
- You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensuring all reports comply with accounting standards and company policies.
Tax Compliance
- You will ensure timely filing of all tax returns including VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, and payroll taxes.
- Calculating tax liabilities accurately and avoiding penalties.
Accounts Management
- You will manage accounts payable and receivable, tracking invoices, payments, and collections.
- Reconciling supplier statements and following up on overdue customer accounts.
Bank Reconciliation
- You will perform monthly bank reconciliations, matching company records with bank statements.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Audit Support
- You will support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and answering auditor questions.
- Implementing audit recommendations to strengthen controls.
Internal Controls
- You will develop and maintain internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, and misappropriation.
- Reviewing processes and recommending improvements.
Cash Flow Management
- You will monitor cash flow, forecasting inflows and outflows to ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Advising management on cash positions and funding needs.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Certification
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification, partly qualified, or qualified with ICA (Gh) or ACCA.
Experience
- At least ten years of accounting experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- High integrity to handle sensitive financial information without compromise.
- Strong attention to detail, catching errors in calculations, postings, or reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally.
