POSITION: Risk And Systems Assistant
Job Summary
The Abosso Goldfields Limited, Damang Mine’s Occupational Health & Safety Department is looking to hire a driven and meticulous person for the role of Risk and Systems Assistant. The chosen candidate will support the Unit Manager – Safety & Occupational Hygiene in maintaining efficient documentation of Safety Management systems, processes, policies, producing regular safety statistics, and preparing reports to comply with ISO 45001:2018 standards and requirements.
Main Duties
- Keep documentation of Gold Fields’ health and safety guidelines, procedures, permits, forms, and safety management systems.
- Preserve and document health and safety data and metrics.
- Track, evaluate, and propose enhancements based on lead and lag health and safety metrics.
- Gather daily, weekly, and monthly safety data along with other pertinent health and safety documents.
- Help in the assessment and oversight of safety programs and initiatives.
- Aid in maintaining documentation and monitoring incident investigation reports and corrective action logs.
- Prepares and delivers presentations regarding safety programs and activities. Job notifications
- Collaborate with site management to enhance the onsite safety programs, initiatives, and systems.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or its equivalent qualification.
- Certificate of Competency for Health, Safety, and Environment Officer.
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a health and safety officer in a mining setting.
- Certification for lead auditor in ISO 45001:2018.
- In-depth understanding of pertinent local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Thorough comprehension of health and safety management systems.
- Thorough understanding and practical experience in risk management and loss prevention procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Robust abilities in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
- A legitimate light-duty vehicle license and capability in operating a light vehicle.
- Health suitability for the role and setting.
