At the Iduapriem operation, we combine the Teberebie and Iduapriem open pit gold mines. Our workforce exceeds 1400 people, including contractors. We operate with precision, passion, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.

Responsibilities

This role carries significant responsibility. You will design, define, and manage dependable systems of work that reliably deliver the expected ore grade and tonnage from mine to mill. You will integrate technical studies, programs, and production geology analysis with broader business objectives. Your work directly influences mine planning, mining production, and the process plant.

Here is what you will accomplish in this role:

Establish Robust Production Geology Processes

You will create and implement the necessary production geology systems and practices.
Developing an effective ore accounting and production reconciliation process will be your priority. This includes building efficient grade control procedures.
You will craft ore blending plans in close collaboration with mining and processing teams.

Drive Strategic Planning

You will develop, communicate, and deliver a rolling 18 month plan, broken down by quarter. This plan ensures the delivery of required production geology services and outputs.
Your developed ore accounting and reconciliation process will control and inform future work and plans.
You will control ore feed according to mill requirements.

Ensure Technical Excellence

You will guarantee that production geology techniques and tools apply to the required standards.
Staying current with industry best practices will keep our operation competitive.

Lead and Develop Your Team

You will lead and develop a high performing geology team.
Mentoring senior geologists and technical specialists will build capability across the department.
Driving succession planning ensures we have the right talent for tomorrow.
You will foster a culture where AGA values are demonstrated daily.

Manage Resources and Compliance

You will develop and deliver the annual production geology cost centre budget. This supports achieving annual, medium term, and Life of Mine business plans.
All mine geology activities will align with Company values, policies, standards, laws, regulations, local cultural norms, and third party agreements.

What You Bring

We seek a candidate with deep experience and proven leadership. Here are the qualifications and experience you need:

Education: You hold an MSc or BSc Honours degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
Certification: You have the ability to obtain a Minerals Commission competency certificate.
Licensing: You must hold a valid Driver’s License.
Industry Experience: You bring a minimum of 15 years experience in mining geology and exploration.
Leadership Experience: You have at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Risk Analysis: You demonstrate proven experience in geological risk analysis.
Strategic Thinking: You possess strong strategic thinking capability.
Commercial Acumen: You have sound financial and commercial understanding.
Decision Making: You can make effective decisions even under uncertainty.
Stakeholder Management: You excel at engaging and managing stakeholders effectively.
