POSITION: Mobile Banking Officer

Advans Ghana, a subsidiary of the worldwide microfinance business Advans, began operations in 2008. The institution provides a comprehensive range of tailored financial products and services to Ghana’s micro, small, and medium-sized firms. The institution serves about 64,000 customers through a network of 20 retail locations and 650 workers.
Job Description

Advans Ghana, a prominent MFI, currently has the position you are seeking for Mobile Banking Officer. The position is open throughout all branch networks. Contract with the option for renewal.
What will be your role?
The urban Mobile Banking Officer represents Advans in the field (at clients’ offices). The objectives of his or her function are as follows:
- Building a savings and deposit portfolio.
- Ensure that clients have access to and can use any delivery channel proposed by Advan.
- Providing field support for timely loan payback.
Main Responsibilities
Commercial activity.
- Organize prospecting and communication activities in the intervention zone (markets and commercial areas) in coordination with other branch personnel.
- Individually prospect new prospects and engage in cross-selling activities with new and existing clients by understanding their needs and giving accurate information about
- Advans products and services.
- Follow up with prospects by making regular contact with identified potential clients, and utilizing prospecting tools (forms, CRM, etc.).
- Provide high-quality service to promote client adherence to Advan
Deposit mobilization
Encourage customers to make deposits and promote saving by:
- Organize field visits to maintain frequent contact with clients.
- Offering savings accounts tailored to the client’s requirements.
- Training clients on saving habits
- Encourage clients to make frequent deposits and transfers to their Advans account, especially with loan repayment.
Remote Access to Advan’s
Provide clients with convenient remote access to Advans products by:
- Facilitating non-cash transactions on the field, such as creating clients, opening accounts, and accepting loan applications.
- Enrolling clients in the e-cash service and doing field collection for e-cash clients, with a focus on late repayments.
- Enrolling clients in the Mobibank service, encouraging good uptake of the service (offering training, coaching, and support in case the clients encounter issues, boosting trust in the service), and instructing clients on how to repay their loans through the Mobibank service
- Promotion of any other alternate delivery channel implemented by Advan’s
- Documenting the client’s request and or needs about distribution channels using the proper technologies, and ensuring follow-up on these requests and or needs.
- Responsibilities include representing Advans in the field and providing information to urban clients.
Organization
- Ensure that all operations are executed in accordance with Advans policies and procedures.
- Report to the direct supervisor on activities and issues.
- Supported by a direct supervisor, monitor targets and analyze priorities at portfolio and client levels. Create optimum schedules and assure field application.
- Share knowledge and best practices with other mobile banking officers.
Workplace challenges
- Maintain a solid relationship with a vast client portfolio.
- Offer personalized solutions for each client and manage time effectively.
- Travel to urban/rural zones daily.
Required Skill or Experience
- Minimum completion of SSCE Certificate, WASSCE, or Diploma
- Good mathematical ability.
