We seek a skilled Engine Field Service Technician to join our team, focusing on Services, Maintenance, and Diagnostics for our Service Operations Division in Tarkwa, Ghana.
Responsibilities

- Provide Dependable On-Site Repairs: You will guarantee that engines are operational promptly by assessing and performing repairs at customer locations, reducing downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Improve Customer Experience: By interacting kindly and professionally, you’ll foster trust and lasting connections with customers, becoming a reliable representative of the business.
- Guarantee Operational Readiness: Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance aids in avoiding breakdowns, prolonging engine lifespan, and minimizing expensive repairs for clients.
- Enhance Team Efficiency: You will refer unresolved matters to senior technicians or supervisors, guaranteeing that intricate issues are resolved promptly while maintaining service standards.
- Ensure Precise Records: Filling out service logs, timesheets, and warranty claims guarantees clarity, aids warranty procedures, and fosters ongoing enhancement.
- Recognize Extra Service Opportunities: Detecting and relaying possible service requirements assists customers in preventing problems and enhances overall business value.
- Maintain Safety and Environmental Standards: By following Health, Safety & Environmental guidelines and reporting incidents, you’ll help create a safe and compliant workplace.
- Maintain Tools and Vehicles in Excellent Condition: Caring for your service vehicle and tools guarantees you’re consistently prepared to address customer needs effectively and professionally.
DUTIES
For success in this position, you will require the following:
- Technical Skills & Diagnostic Abilities: You need to convert customer issues into efficient troubleshooting strategies by utilizing diagnostic software, electronic service instruments, and mechanical knowledge, particularly when dealing with gensets and intricate engine systems.
- Flexibility & Troubleshooting: At times, you will need to carry out intricate repairs that go beyond standard duties. Achievement will rely on your capacity to analyze system interactions and raise concerns when necessary, guaranteeing precise and effective solutions.
- Professionalism & Accountability: Operating vehicles and engaging with customers necessitates a strong degree of professionalism. Maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of service vehicles demonstrates your dedication to safety, preparedness, and company standards.
- Documentation & Communication: Precisely recording diagnostics, repairs, and service tasks in business systems is crucial for warranty claims, payment processing, and historical tracking, promoting transparency and accountability.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Trainee Engine Technician with Training (Preferred)
- Technical diploma from an applicable vocational institution
- Regionally valid driving license
- Entry-level experience in field service tasks
- Moderate proficiency in and/or experience with engine products
- Experience in customer service
- The remuneration for this position corresponds with a local negotiated or union contract.
