Job Description

One of the most important things CERN does is teach. Our experts like to share what they know with pupils who are dedicated and interested.

Imagine doing your internship at CERN in Geneva if you are a first-year student in a technical or administrative area and want to learn on the job for a few months. A great thing to add to your resume!

In our actual training program, we only have room for a small number of people.

Duration is one to six months.

Qualifications

You should meet the following standards to be eligible for an internship:

  • You are a full-time student (Technical/Administrative diploma, Bachelor or Master degree). Please note that this program is not open to people who are getting a PhD.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • Your main area of study is either applied physics, computing, mathematics, electricity, electronics, mechanical or civil engineering, instrumentation, materials science, radiation protection, safety and environmental protection, surveying, ultra-high vacuum, or scientific communication. Or in administrative fields like translation, advanced office work, accounting, legal services, human resources, librarianship, and logistics.
  • During your job at CERN, you will still be a full-time student.
  • You know how to work well in either English or French.

Important Information

  • The job can last anywhere from one month to six months.
  • Your Educational Establishment or University must make sure you have full insurance coverage in the Geneva area (France and Switzerland) for medical costs, work and private accidents, and any disability caused by professional and non-professional illness or accidents.
  • You will get an amount of 1,516 Swiss Francs each month.
