Mother allegedly hangs son and herself
A young mother killed herself in the town of Ajoa, which is in the Western Region’s Ahanta West Municipality.
Before she killed herself, she hung her son.
We don’t know why she and her son both killed themselves, but witnesses who spoke with the host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, said they saw the young mother and her son’s dead bodies early on Wednesday, January 20, 2023.
“When we got to the building to work as laborers, we saw the dead bodies of the woman and her son,” a witness named Nana Yaw said.
“She might be in her early twenties, and her son might be about four years old. We don’t know where they are from or who their family members are. “They are still hanging by a thread,” Nana Yaw said.
From the pictures that are available, the young parent can be seen hanging while her son’s hand is tied with a rope.
“From what I’ve heard, people in the neighborhood saw the young woman and her son begging for money yesterday around 4 p.m. No one else saw them again until this morning, when we found them dead in the building that wasn’t finished. We don’t know her in this town, so we think she came from somewhere else,” said Robert James Yankey, an Assembly member for Ajoa.
