POSITION: Sales Agronomist
Matrix AgroScience, a division of Matrix Innovation, is a leading importer and distributor of environmentally friendly agrochemicals and high-quality agricultural implements in Ghana, and is presently looking for competent candidates for the role of Sales Agronomist.
The successful Agronomy Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting sales of the company’s numerous goods across the country into the agriculture industry, guaranteeing effective and timely delivery of our products. You will collaborate with agrochemical input dealers around the country, farmers/farmer organizations, and other stakeholders along Ghana’s agrochemical sector supply chain to encourage proper product usage and by-product disposal.
Attributes and Basic Functions
- The sales agronomist should be aggressive, nimble, business-savvy, imaginative, ambitious, energetic, and willing to grasp new concepts rapidly.
- Sales Agronomists will be at the forefront of the company’s market presence, solely responsible for negotiating and implementing mutually advantageous sales agreements with clients. The mission is to drive long-term financial growth by increasing sales, developing strong client relationships, and providing technical support for the efficient and environmentally friendly use of our products.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or agricultural economics with agronomy knowledge is necessary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of experience in sales, business development, operations, or a similar field
- Proven experience as an agronomy sales representative.

- Agronomy sales experience preferred

- Excellent customer service and prospecting skills
- Motivated and target-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and provide feedback • Product knowledge

Responsibilities
- Carry out sales plans to meet sales targets and boost profitability by implementing sales, marketing, and consulting procedures for products and services.
- Evaluate current customer programs and create sales and marketing strategies to satisfy business needs while expanding the firm.
- Collaborate with other agrochemical supply chain partners to increase sales visibility and impact while also improving efficiency and profitability.
- Encourage positive long-term relationships with clients to generate recurring business.
- Identify and meet the training needs of farmers and farmer groups.
- Create sales presentations, contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure the success of deals.
- Interact with customers politely and professionally.
- Handle consumer complaints and inquiries.
- Lead sales efforts and serve as a mentor to less experienced salespeople.
- Gain expertise in several products and apply it to all facets of your profession.
- Maintain and maintain a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations throughout.
- Build trust.
Note:
Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is preferred.
