POSITION: HSSE Manager
Job Summary
The Country HSSE Manager will guide and execute Puma Energy’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) strategy, which encompasses management systems, programs, and training to minimize risks, enhance worker health and safety, decrease environmental and community impact, and promote a positive HSSE culture. This position entails offering operational HSSE guidance and assistance to our country leaders, as well as implementing initiatives that consistently enhance our culture and performance in alignment with the Puma Energy Global HSSE Vision and Regional HSSE Strategy.
Main Duties:
- Foster a strong Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) culture that encourages responsibility and employee support via impactful leadership and engagement methods.
- Guide the creation, execution, and assessment of national strategies and initiatives that promote ongoing advancement in HSSE performance and culture. Guide and impact business executives on HSSE topics and initiatives while promoting uniformity in executing the Puma Energy HSSE Vision, Strategy, Management Systems, Governance, and Assurance Programs.
- Oversee HSSE compliance and regulatory matters nationwide in alignment with Puma Energy policies and operational needs. Recognize, create, and oversee strategies to handle emerging challenges and risks associated with HSSE management to guarantee business readiness and continuity. Communicate directly with external contractors, clients, and stakeholders, including national Regulatory Authorities and Agencies.
- Make sure the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is created and established for every site and assist country leadership in executing compliance with the plan. Offer guidance and coaching on understanding and utilizing the Puma
- Energy HSSE Management Framework. Assist the Regional HSSE Strategy in recognizing HSSE opportunities and contribute to regional training initiatives.
- Guide, assist, and offer direction to site and country leadership as suitable regarding inquiries into injuries, incidents, near misses, violations, or other occurrences.
- Compile reports and presentations containing suggestions that aid in continuous improvement initiatives, national crisis management, and business continuity strategies. Aid in creating strategic reports to enable the country leadership team and business leaders to grasp current and upcoming HSSE risk trends within the nation.
- Engage proactively as a part of the Regional HSSE leadership team and collaborate with the wider HSSE Group.

Requirements:
Experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) position, preferably with an emphasis on Oil and Gas, Construction, Aviation, and/or other high-risk sectors;
- Thorough knowledge of the HSSE regulatory frameworks within local country jurisdictions and the capability to effectively convey legal obligations.
- Certificate in health, safety, and/or environmental field or related area. Preferably holds a university degree;
- Familiarity and expertise with global standards ISO 45001, ISO 45003, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
Skills
- Proficient in English, with excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities;
- Showcased abilities in managing country projects and skills in investigating incidents;
- Robust abilities in risk assessment and management;
- Strong interpersonal abilities, encompassing effective teamwork, negotiation, and persuasion skills;
- Outstanding writing abilities with the capability to create reports and documentation;
- Proficient in computer usage and intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, along with HSSE digital platforms.

External – Regulatory Authorities throughout the country jurisdiction, Country Service Providers and Suppliers, Auditors, Contractors, Customers, and others as assigned by the Regional Head of HSSE and Country General Manager
